Your time in college will be memorable- no matter when you start your journey. Make the most of your time by setting yourself up for success.

  1. Meet with your academic advisor
    • Your advisor and professors are a valuable resource for scheduling classes and graduation requirements.
  2. Backup ALL computer files!
  3. Be a mindful learner
    • Pay attention to your learning habits so you can optimize your study time.
  4. Anticipate academic struggles and seek help when needed
    • College coursework can be demanding. Utilize academic planners and college success apps to help you organize and track your workload.
  5. Use Student Services resources
    • The Learning Center offers free tutoring both on-ground and online as well as academic coaches.
    • The Brenau Trustee Library offers research appointments with a librarian and subject guides to help your research.
    • The Writing Center offers thesis statement development, drafting feedback, presentation preparation, MLA & APA citation help, and online tutoring.
    • The SPA (study place for achievement) offers math placement test scheduling and tutoring services for pre-algebra, algebra, statistics, pre-calculus, calculus, biology and chemistry.
