Congratulating our graduates and exciting announcements

Last week, Brenau conferred 347 degrees. That includes graduates from The Women’s College, the Undergraduate School and the Sidney O. Smith Jr. Graduate School.

I always look forward to shaking the hands of graduates and offering them my congratulations. As president, I am honored to be part of this life-changing moment for them. They represent the culmination of the university’s mission and are the very best of Brenau’s thriving future.

These graduates, the university’s newest alumni, will go on to make a difference in the communities where they live and work. That is what I hope for each of Brenau’s 2026 graduates and why I join their families and friends in celebrating their achievement.

This spring, we also celebrated our competition cheer team, which won a third-straight national championship at the National Cheerleading Association competition in Florida. We are so proud of these student-athletes who balance academics and competition and succeed in both.

Our biggest, most transformative news this semester was the announcement of the naming of the Jacobs College of Business and Media. This gift recognizes the Jacobs family’s enduring philanthropic support of the institution, their legacy of community service, and their role as true pioneers who have shaped the media landscape for 77 years. The Jacobs family’s impact at Brenau, in the community and in the media remains a living legacy. This naming is a fitting way to honor that.
