Brenau University has been featured in the fall issues of two statewide magazines, Georgia Trend and James Magazine.
The Georgia Trend article about Hall County highlighted Brenau’s efforts to address the state’s teacher shortage. Launched in 2025, the Carole Ann Daniel College of Education’s TigerTEACH program offers a tuition discount on initial certification programs for school district employees.
The feature also focused on recent agreements Brenau signed to address Georgia’s nursing shortage. Earlier this year, Brenau signed an agreement with Lanier Technical College to allow eligible students with associate degrees to seamlessly transfer credits into Brenau’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program through the university’s RN-to-BSN pathway. In August, the university signed an agreement with the Technical College System of Georgia.
“This program will permit nurses to be promoted within the healthcare system without sitting for another licensing exam,” Brenau President David L. Barnett said to Georgia Trend. “We’re able to provide competency-based credit in acknowledgment of the skills they’ve already attained and accelerate the credentialing process.”
James Magazine highlighted Brenau’s impact on the local community. The university graduates between 600 and 700 students each year, who have an immediate impact by filling workforce needs across a wide array of industries. The article also focused on the increase in traditional undergraduate enrollment at the university during the last few years, up 29% since fall 2023.
