Incoming students register for classes at annual ROAR events

new students ready to roar at summer orientation

More than 300 incoming Brenau students attended the annual summer orientation, ROAR, on June 17-18 and 25-26.

As of early July, 313 students are registered to attend in the fall, with 302 attending ROAR; the second ROAR was the largest ever, with 170 students attending. Including parents and guests, Brenau’s historic Gainesville campus welcomed 643 people.

“The overwhelming energy at our recent ROAR registration events has been inspiring, culminating in our second event being the largest attended ROAR in Brenau’s history,” Nathan Goss, vice president of marketing and enrollment management , said. “This historic turnout reflects a growing momentum and a strong trust in the Brenau experience. Our dedicated teams worked hard to welcome, support, and seamlessly launch our newest students on their academic journeys.”

ROAR – which stands for Readiness, Orientation, Advising and Registration – takes place twice every summer to offer guidance and support to the incoming first-year class and transfer students. Students have opportunities to get to know each other, register for classes and explore campus. Many students stayed in campus housing overnight, and all of the registered students were able to attend workshops, meet with current students and learn about campus resources.

The enhanced registration and orientation event began in 2022, and is required for all first-year students. More information is on the ROAR page.
