Brenau University’s Ernest Ledford Grindle Athletics Department has announced Zac Reichert as the new head coach of the soccer program.
Reichert takes over for Mike Lochstampfor, vice president of Athletics, who had served as the Golden Tigers’ soccer head coach since 2002. Lochstampfor will continue to serve in his administrative role.
“I believe this position is a great fit for Coach Reichert, and I look forward to celebrating the program under his leadership,” Lochstampfor said. “For the last few years, he has been at the forefront of recruiting the players who make up the 2026 team, and it will be exciting to see his efforts rewarded with the team in action this season.”
Reichert has served as the associate head coach and athletics recruiting coordinator for the Golden Tigers’ soccer program throughout the past three seasons.
Prior to Brenau, Reichert served as head and co-head coach at Countryside High School in Clearwater, Florida, and Largo High School in Largo, Florida, earning a career record of 50-11-7. He also coached club soccer at Tarpon FC in Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Oldsmar Soccer Club in Oldsmar, Florida. He also holds several coaching certifications.
Lochstampfor posted 189 victories during his coaching career at Brenau, highlighted by a program-best 15-4-1 record in the 2013-14 season when the team peaked at No. 12 nationally. He coached four National Association for Intercollegiate Athletics All-Americans and numerous All-Conference level players. He retires from his coaching position with an overall record of 227-225-32 (.502%), putting him 18th among NAIA Active Winningest Women’s Soccer Head Coaches.
Before joining the Brenau program, Lochstampfor coached at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas, Oglethorpe University in Brookhaven, Georgia, and Reinhardt University in Waleska, Georgia.
Brenau’s athletic programs are housed within The Women’s College, and only Women’s College students are eligible to participate in intercollegiate athletics. Brenau is a member of the NAIA and the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
