Constitution Day

Constitution Day is an American federal observance that celebrates the ratification of the U.S. Constitution in 1787. It is celebrated on Sept. 17, the same day 39 delegates signed the document in Philadelphia in 1787. The Constitution contains a preamble and seven articles that outline the structure and operation of the U.S. government. The Constitution united the U.S. as a young country and granted the power of the union to the people.

Brenau University will celebrate Constitution Day by hosting showings of the play “What the Constitution Means to Me” and by discussing constitutional limits and implications in classes across different disciplines, including law and history.
