Theatre Department

Gainesville Theatre Alliance is an exciting, one-of-a-kind, nationally recognized departmental collaboration between the University of North Georgia and Brenau University. GTA utilizes hands-on, individualized training while emphasizing ensemble and collaboration between programs; all in support of an extraordinary production program that rivals the largest theatre schools in the country. GTA’s cross-campus union allows for an incredible array of performance, rehearsal, classroom, and laboratory space including five theatres, multiple shops, design labs, rehearsal and dance studios, state of the art equipment, and much more.

All of GTA’s programs remain undergraduate only, ensuring that your university experience is one of inclusion and continued growth through numerous opportunities. GTA’s faculty is an assembly of top-notch professionals and educators with remarkable credits and experience. Inspiring guest artists from across the country frequent the stage and classrooms of GTA, sharing their knowledge, process, and craft with our students. GTA’s proximity to Atlanta, a quickly growing epicenter of film in the United States, as well as an established and burgeoning theatre city, makes for numerous professional opportunities right in our backyard.
