Art & Design Department

Students in all Art and Design programs receive a strong foundation in elements and principles of design. Studio and Art History courses provide students with critical awareness of cultural context and historical significance. Brenau students have the unique opportunity to hone their skills, critical thinking, and aesthetics in their chosen concentration through small classes and faculty mentorship. Professional development and career-oriented skills are encouraged by inviting outside consultants and guest speakers, field trips to local, regional, national and international sites, practicums, internships and other opportunities. Our students are given the opportunity to show their work in a variety of contexts, including juried exhibitions and shows at the High Museum of Art and in our annual student collaborative exhibition held in conjunction with the Brenau Galleries.

About Portfolio Review

Art and Design students in any of our programs have opportunities to exhibit their work in our annual collaborative exhibitions.

Despite the fact that we do not require one for entrance, we invite you to submit your work for a portfolio review to apply for an Art and Design scholarship. To find out more download the Art & Design Portfolio Scholarship Form (PDF).
