Registration is now open for Alumni Reunion Weekend on April 16-18 at Brenau University.
The annual weekend-long reunion is open to all alumni, whether they attended The Women’s College, the Academy, or any undergraduate or graduate program.
“This year’s Alumni Reunion Weekend is packed with so many events, and we are excited to showcase alums in the Alumni Artist Juried Exhibition, Alumni Dance Concert and Alumni Awards dinner and ceremony,” Alumni Engagement Director Emily Reid said. “It is always such an exciting time to be on campus, and it is a joy to bring together the full Brenau community.”
The Department of Art and Design will host the Brenau Collaborative art and fashion show on Thursday. The art show will be open in Sellars Gallery from 3 to 5 p.m., and the fashion show will take place at 6 p.m. in Pearce Auditorium. A reception will follow in Sellars and Presidents galleries. Additionally, a meet-and-greet with the artists featured in the Alumni Juried Exhibition will be held in the Renaissance Gallery on downtown Gainesville’s square from 5 to 7 p.m. These events are open to the public.
The Innovation, Inquiry and Creativity Symposium will be held at the Downtown Center on Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The symposium features student, faculty and staff presentations that span disciplines as diverse as fine arts and humanities, education, health, science, business and communication. The results of the Golden Decades Class Giving Competition, which encourages alumni to raise funds for student scholarships, will be announced during Alumni Reunion Weekend. Make a donation here.
The Brenau Alumni Awards Dinner and Ceremony will celebrate the achievements of the alumni awardees, including inductees to the Athletics Hall of Fame. The night will also feature special recognition to the 50th Reunion cluster, which includes the classes of 1975, 1976 and 1977.
Class Day, the Champagne Brunch and the May Court Presentation will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m in the Front Lawn. The sorority open house and alumni house reception will start at 3 p.m.
The Brenau Alumni Dance Concert will finish the weekend on Saturday at 6 p.m. in Hosch Theatre. This performance will feature the talent, passion and artistry of Brenau alumni. A pre-concert reception will be held in the Redwine Lobby at 5 p.m.A full list of events can be found here.
