A professional training program in a liberal arts setting, Brenau University has the top-ranked theatre in Georgia, The Gainesville Theatre Alliance. We work with professional guest artists from all over the nation to provide our audiences with the best theatre experience, and our students with the best theatre training. Four mainstage productions, including WonderQuest: a Theatre for Young Audiences, and 4-8 Discovery Series productions a year provide our majors with a wide variety of hands-on, feet-on-the-stage experiences. Our Graduates Succeed...
We believe in the Educated Artist, and we expect our students to be able to succeed not only in theatre, but in any related field they may choose to enter. Unlike many bigger universities, we don’t just throw out graduates into the world, we work with them in the years leading up to graduation, helping them to clarify their goals and providing them the tools to put them on their chosen path. Over 85% of our graduates are working in professional theatre right now, as actors, directors, designers, professors and technical specialists. 1 in 3 of our graduates go on to receive their MFA and/or PhD in theatre, and that number is going up every year. More than that, the majority of our graduates overwhelmingly go on to be happy, fulfilled and useful people within their communities, both professionally and personally.
