‘Legally Blonde: The Musical’ runs from Nov. 5-16 in Hosch Theatre on the Brenau University Gainesville campus.

Several Brenau University students are currently starring in the Gainesville Theatre Alliance’s production of Legally Blonde: The Musical, a fabulously fun, award-winning musical adaptation of the 2001 hit movie running Nov. 5-16 in Hosch Theatre.

The musical follows the transformation of Elle Woods — played by Brenau senior Lauren Hill — as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams. Woods appears to have it all. But when her boyfriend Warner — played by Brenau freshman Trey Lawson — dumps her so he can attend Harvard, Woods ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school.

While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends — played by Brenau students Margaret Holtkamp, Katie Ivey, Zafyre Sexton and Rachel Finzazzo — Woods quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world. Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances, this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal.

Music and lyrics are by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin and book by Heather Hach. Gainesville Theatre Alliance is a nationally acclaimed collaboration between the University of North Georgia, Brenau University, Theatre Professionals and the Northeast Georgia Community.
