Nursing (B.S.N.) Accelerated B.S.N. Full-Time Program

Our CCNE-accredited Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program teaches the clinical knowledge and hands-on patient care skills you need to start your nursing journey, plus the leadership and research fundamentals you’ll need to progress as a professional.

Offered through the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing, the ABSN is a full-time, on-campus degree for students who already hold a bachelor’s degree in another discipline.

Holding a bachelor’s degree in nursing also gives you the option of pursuing graduate education in the field, such as our Master of Science in Nursing. With our ABSN you get accelerated preparation for your new nursing career plus a foundation for long term professional growth.


Our ABSN is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), which indicates that it meets high standards of quality for clinical content and instruction. The curriculum consists of 60 credit-hours of coursework covering health science, nursing theory and practice and clinical experience.

After graduation, you will be prepared to choose a nursing specialty and take the NCLEX-RN examination to become a Registered Nurse (RN).

Your general education, science, and mathematics courses from your previous degree program will be evaluated for transfer towards your ABSN. If you did not complete a course or equivalent from the list below, you may need to make up the course prior to beginning your nursing degree. You must complete all prerequisite courses to be considered for admission to the program.

Admissions Documents Requirements

“We seek exceptional students who are ready to take on the challenge of a nursing degree. You must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university (or foreign equivalent) and earned a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Official college transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
  • Transcripts must show a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA from all college transcripts and a 3.0 science GPA. The science GPA is calculated using the highest grade earned during the last five years in the following courses: BY209, BY210, CY103 and BY206 or equivalent.
  • Test results from the HESI Nursing Admissions Test showing a minimum score of 75 percent.

Admissions GPA Requirements

A minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA from all college transcripts and a 3.0 science GPA. The science GPA is calculated using the highest grade earned during the last five years in the following courses: BY209, BY210, CY103, and BY206 or equivalent.
