Whether freshmen on campus for the first time or seniors experiencing their “last first day,” emotions and excitement ran high as we caught up with a few between their classes on the historic Gainesville campus.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”45769″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Kellsey Kloker, senior health sciences major

“The first day is going really well,” Kloker said. “I’ve had two classes already and have two more today, and I’m loving my professors. I have my syllabuses laid out, am getting organized and I’m all set!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”45767″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Lei “Ray” Li and Haoyu “Harry” Zhou, English majors in the 2+2 program with Brenau and Anhui Normal University

“It’s an easy day,” Zhou said. “It’s very good.”

“It’s busy, but I think it is not bad,” Li said. “It is good to be here. Brenau feels like a second home.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”45766″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Katherine Davis, senior acting major

‘I haven’t had a single class yet, but it is awesome to be back. I felt like I had nothing to do over the summer, even though I was working professionally. So it’s nice to be back with people I love. I love school; I love taking classes. So it’s nice to be back to having an actual schedule.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=”middle”][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”45765″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Chayla Park, senior biology major

“Today is about shaping up what the year is going to hold. It’s a little overwhelming because it’s my last first day of undergrad, but it’s good. I’m almost done, and then graduate school is on the list, and I hope a doctorate in physical therapy as well.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”45768″ img_size=”medium” add_caption=”yes”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Sahara Outler, sophomore psychology major, and Kendy Manzano, junior fashion design major

“My first day is really pretty good,” Outler said. “I only have two classes today, so it’s not bad. I’ve been here two weeks because I’m a Golden Guide, Servant Leader Scholar and International Ambassador, so it’s good to have everybody back and see everybody starting off a good year.”

“I’m super excited to be back,” Manzano said. “I’ve also been back two weeks as an RA on campus, so I’m really happy to have everyone back on campus.”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
