Our purpose for the study abroad experience in the Brenau University College of Education (COE) is to provide students with a cultural exchange through visiting other countries to make school visits, have a science/historical field experience, and to provide students with a unique field placement teaching opportunity.

Our COE faculty have visited various locations to determine the viability of providing our students with a variety of study abroad opportunities.  Our first group of students traveled to Belize in the spring of 2014.  Those students came away singing praises for how this experience expanded their knowledge of the world.

In the Spring of 2015, Dr. Eugene Williams and Dr. Bryan Sorohan spent part of the semester in China.  During that same time, Brenau University hosted 2 faculty from China here in Gainesville. Our relationship with Anhui Normal University continues to develop, with other COE faculty teaching in China while we host visiting Chinese professors at Brenau.

In 2017 the College of Education took students to San Miguel de Allende in Guanajuato, Mexico.  We hope to return with more students in the future!

Please take a few minutes to look at our Bahamas trip from Spring Break last year!

In addition, please watch for future plans in the years to come.  We have a number of locations in mind and look forward to bringing those to fruition.
