College of Business & Communication

Twenty years of online teaching experience.
Experience you can count on.

CBC Mission Statement

The College of Business and Communication has a two-pronged mission. First, as leaders in the education of adults, we prepare students to develop and/or advance in their careers and lives through challenging, convenient, educational opportunities. Second, we are committed to the development of young women and men as future leaders through our traditional program. In both cases, we focus on improved critical thinking, communication and technological skills, and subject matter knowledge, to equip students to thrive and adapt in a rapidly changing world.

CBC Vision Statement

The Brenau College of Business and Communication strives to provide an extraordinary education to future leaders which will empower our graduates to be conversant with innovative applications of technology, best practices, and creative trends in a global marketplace.

CBC Strategic Statements

  1. Increase enrollment through a focus on recruitment and retention
  2. Ensure that global practices and cultural awareness are reflected in all majors
  3. Pursue teaching excellence

Letter from the Dean

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the College of Business and Communication (CBC) at Brenau University! The CBC offers on ground and online undergraduate and graduate degree programs in multiple fields of study. Our class sizes are small, which allows for meaningful engagement with faculty members and students. Our faculty members include a diverse group of experienced professionals who are actively engaged in teaching, research, and scholarship.

Our vision for the immediate future is to collaborate with our University partners to offer new dual enrollment initiatives for our undergraduate program and promote our new articulation agreements with the Technical College System of Georgia. Additionally, we are recruiting a proactive advisory board to serve as a sounding board and as a source of expertise for the CBC.

We invite you to explore our program offerings on our website or come visit us in the Jacobs building on the Gainesville campus. The Jacobs building not only houses our business and communication courses, but the Jacobs building is also the home to our radio station, WBCX 89.1.

We look forward to you joining the Brenau family!

Shatrela B. Washington-Hubbard, Ph.D.
