What is the Women’s Leadership Program?

The interdisciplinary Women’s Leadership Program is designed to offer students academic and experiential opportunities to develop leadership skills informed by gender awareness. In addition to taking foundational courses in gender studies and leadership principles, students will complete an internship directly related to women in leadership.

As part of the experience, each student will submit a paper or project about the internship and present it to a faculty committee. If a student’s major requires an internship, that course may fulfill this requirement provided the student’s work focuses on women and leadership.

Why is This Important?

Brenau University Women’s College has a rich, 141-year legacy of cultivating confident, capable female leaders. Continuing this legacy, the newly designed Women’s Leadership Undergraduate Certificate Program educates, inspires, and empowers young women to become leaders in a global society.

The Women’s Leadership Program:

• Features interdisciplinary leadership studies with a gender focus.
• Provides an academic foundation for women’s leadership development.
• Exposes students to multiple dimensions of leadership.
• Formalizes internship(s) for student leaders and others interested in women’s leadership.
