What do you love the most about being a @brenau_cbc marketing major?
It’s nice being a part of a small program because you’re able to work on projects that make big impacts in the community. Last year, I worked on a class video project with Habitat for Humanity, and it was really fulfilling to give back. Being a marketing major has opened doors to network with alumni, trustees, professors and business professionals inside and outside of the community. I also really appreciate how Brenau places an emphasis on women empowerment, specifically women in business, which is such a male-dominated field.
What’s the biggest opportunity you’ve gained at Brenau?
I’ve had the opportunity to intern with Brenau’s marketing content team for the last two years. I’ve been able to go from not knowing what I want to do, to exploring different marketing niches. For example, I started making videos for Brenau Athletics, and ended up expanding my horizons to different types of content. I love interviewing professors and also getting to learn about programs that I didn’t necessarily know about. My highest accomplishment was my snow day video, which reached far beyond Brenau’s followers.
What do you do outside of your marketing role?
With my role as a peer mentor, I’ve been able to explore the different levels of Brenau. I’ve been here for three years, and I’ve made connections with all types of students. Recently, I upgraded my professional life as well. I worked part-time in the service industry, and moved up into a hospitality job where I’m able to apply the knowledge and skills I’ve gained at Brenau.
What do you want everyone to know about Brenau?
It’s such a welcoming space, and it feels safe to be in the community, to know who people are, and to build connections. The friends I’ve made here reached beyond the space, and have touched other aspects of my life. Also, certain professors have made a huge impact on my college experience. They go above and beyond to not just show their love for the profession, but their love for the students.

The College of Education, in partnership with @zta.omicron, held their fifth-annual Pink Out Walk today to raise breast cancer awareness. Dressed in pink, the group of students, faculty and staff walked the Brenau mile, cheering as they passed people.
“It’s very important to stress the importance of early detection,” said Dr. Natasha Iszard, education associate professor. “I’m a breast cancer survivor, and we have some other members in the College of Education who are survivors or have been impacted by cancer in general. So, this is a great way to encourage active movement and awareness about the disease.”

PA Week’s starting date, Oct. 6, honors both the anniversary of the first graduating class of PAs from Duke University in 1967, and the birthday of the professions’ founder, Dr. Eugene A. Stead, Jr.
