Two Program Options

Bachelor of Arts in Music Education

Multiple career options: Graduate with the ability to teach band, chorus, or orchestra from Pre-K through 12th grade after passing the Georgia Assessment for the Certification of Educators
More than a number: Learn in small classes averaging five students. Brenau’s faculty will know when you don’t understand something and take the time to help
Hands-on learning: Complete field experiences in elementary, middle, and high school settings before picking one for your student teaching
Early access to ensembles: Perform in up to three ensembles starting in your first semester and have many other performance options, including opera workshop and radio hour
Collaborative education: Work with Brenau students from other majors, including dance, health science, and psychology

Master of Education in Music Education

Made for working teachers: The fully online format lets certified music educators continue teaching while earning their degree.
Focused on every learner: Dedicated coursework prepares teachers to support music students with disabilities, gifted students, and neurodivergent learners.
Practical from day one: Students can apply what they learn to their own classrooms, ensembles, and school music programs right away.
More than methods: Coursework also covers budgeting, resource management, program design, music technology, and music psychology.

If you’re a music major, you’ll perform in one, or maybe all, of Brenau’s music ensembles. All of our ensembles accept students of any major, though some require an audition. Some of the ensembles also allow faculty, staff, and community members to join, so share this information with anyone who loves making music!
