The Brenau University swim team was named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America Scholar All America Team for the fall 2025 semester. The team maintained the highest team grade point average across all CSCAA teams.
“I am very proud of our swimmers, not only do they train hard in the pool and focus on their academics, but they are always willing to tutor teammates who may be struggling,” Head Coach Mandi Bell said. “The upperclassmen host weekly study halls for the freshman swimmers to ensure they get started with good study habits. To maintain a high team GPA, they must all work hard. It is definitely a group effort and one that they take pride in.”
To qualify for this recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 during the spring semester. Brenau swimmers maintained a 3.93 GPA in the fall, ranking first out of the nearly 2,000 CSCAA teams in the country.
“I am thrilled to congratulate the swimming team on their hard work and the well-deserved recognition of earning the highest GPA of all CSCAA swim programs,” Michael Lochstampfor, vice president of athletics, said. “This is a great honor, and it reflects their commitment to excellence both in the classroom and in the pool.”
More than 700 teams were selected to the team, based on their outstanding academic performance during the semester. This is the highest academic honor awarded by the CSCAA, recognizing programs that demonstrate a commitment to academic excellence alongside competitive achievement.
