Mary Katherine “MK” Jabbia Poulicek graduated from Brenau University in 2016 after being a member of the swim team from 2012 to 2015. She was a dedicated student-athlete competing in swimming at both the conference and national levels.

Recruited from Louisiana by Coach Blaire in 2012 as part of the “Cajun Connection,” MK made a lasting impact both athletically and on campus. She served the Student Government Association as senator, vice president, and president, successfully advocating for free laundry access for campus residents. MK was also an active member of Alpha Chi Omega, serving two years as vice president of recruitment, a resident assistant for two years, a member of the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Brenau’s 2020 May Day Queen.

After graduation, MK returned to Louisiana and married Drew Poulicek, a native of Rome, Georgia. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from Xavier University in New Orleans.

She now lives in Slidell, Louisiana, with her husband, their daughter, Frankie, and their dachshund, Dimitr. She works as a pharmacist with Ochsner.

MK credits her teammates, the faculty, staff, and community at Brenau for helping shape her into the driven and independent woman she is today.
