Why earn an MBA in digital marketing?

What you’ll study

The 33-credit MBA includes Business Communications, an 18-credit business core, and a 12-credit Digital Marketing major. Core subjects include marketing strategy, financial management, business law and ethics, managing people, and strategic management. You’ll also choose Business Analytics or Excellence in Operations.

The Digital Marketing major includes:

Depending on your previous coursework, you may need prerequisite study in economics and accounting or finance before completing the degree sequence.

Apply your learning to an organization’s needs

Graduate marketing students have created videos and other content for the Northeast Georgia History Center, and developed and pitched ideas the organization could use in future marketing. Students also develop social media, content, and mobile marketing plans, giving you practice turning a strategy into specific work.

Selected courses include HubSpot certification assignments in social media and content marketing. Analytics coursework gives students experience with tools such as Tableau and Google Analytics. Specific projects and tools may change as courses are updated.

Prerequisite coursework

You can satisfy the prerequisite sequence through graduate coursework or qualifying undergraduate courses:

  • Economics: BA 508 Applied Economics for Managers, or both microeconomics and macroeconomics
  • Accounting and finance: BA 514 Overview of Financial Accounting, or both financial accounting and managerial finance

Courses used to meet these requirements must have been completed within the past five years with a grade of B or better. You may use the graduate option for one requirement and the undergraduate option for the other.

The MBA includes a business core and Business Communications in addition to the four Digital Marketing courses. Brenau’s separate graduate certificate focuses on the 12-credit Digital Marketing sequence and has its own prerequisite requirements.
