Choose your concentration

Choose from eight concentrations to develop knowledge relevant to the work you want to pursue. Each concentration includes 12 credits of specialized coursework; prerequisites vary.

Public Accounting

Examine complex financial reporting, corporate taxation, and the controls organizations use to prevent and detect fraud. Advanced accounting and auditing courses address data analytics and technology, including applications of artificial intelligence.

You’ll learn to evaluate internal controls, identify financial red flags, and interpret audit evidence. Undergraduate accounting prerequisites may be required.

Business Analytics

Build the skills to investigate a business problem, interpret data, and recommend a course of action. Coursework progresses through statistics, regression, data mining, and analytics strategy, including hands-on work with data mining software.

The concentration prepares you to connect analytical findings with operational decisions and communicate with both data specialists and the people responsible for putting recommendations into practice.

Digital Marketing

Develop content strategies, set social media and mobile marketing goals, and evaluate campaign performance. Courses cover audience identification, keyword research, marketing communication, and analysis of paid, earned, and owned media.
You’ll practice creating relevant messages and using results to guide marketing decisions. Coursework also incorporates preparation for industry certification exams.

Finance

Study how organizations evaluate investments, determine value, and manage financial risk. Courses address corporate financial policy, securities and portfolios, international finance, and methods of reducing operating and financial exposure.
This concentration helps you assess financial choices and their implications for an organization’s resources, growth, and operations.

Healthcare Management

Explore the decisions behind healthcare delivery, including ethical responsibilities, law and policy, organizational systems, and financial management. You’ll examine how regulatory requirements and delivery models affect patients, providers, and healthcare organizations.
For clinicians and other healthcare professionals, this coursework provides context for moving into responsibilities involving budgets, operations, and organizational change.

Human Resource Management

Connect workforce decisions with organizational priorities through study in recruitment, retention, compensation, employee development, and HR analytics.
You’ll examine how to design total rewards strategies, manage talent, and assess whether HR practices support an organization’s goals. The concentration addresses both day-to-day personnel responsibilities and the strategic role of human resources.

Management

Combine project planning, human resource management, and leadership development with the study of international organizational behavior. You’ll assess your leadership style and examine approaches to cross-cultural communication, teamwork, and conflict.
This broad concentration is suited to interests that span several management functions, including coordinating projects and supervising employees.

Project Management

Practice developing project scope, schedules, budgets, and risk plans through team assignments. Advanced coursework adds governance, quality, procurement, and change management, along with approaches to engaging virtual teams and stakeholders.
You’ll also explore Agile techniques and emerging technologies. The course sequence helps prepare students for professional certifications, including those offered by the Project Management Institute.

Learn online with faculty support

Complete your coursework online and work directly with faculty in small classes. Applied assignments give you opportunities to examine organizational problems and practice the approaches you’re studying.
