As a new academic year approaches, the energy across Brenau University is truly palpable. With faculty and students returning to campus Aug. 1 and classes starting Aug. 17 for most programs, we are gearing up for what is shaping up to be one of our most dynamic semesters yet.
From setting university attendance records at our summer ROAR registration events to completing key campus facility upgrades in Crudup Hall and East Campus, there is incredible momentum building across our community. We are also celebrating major national achievements by our faculty and student-athletes and introducing new leadership in Golden Tigers athletics.
I am also excited to announce a great speaker coming to Brenau this fall, John Philip Newell. An internationally renowned teacher and author of multiple books, Newell will speak at Brenau University on Sunday, Oct.25, in an event open to the public, as well as in an Oct. 26 event exclusively for the Brenau community.
It takes a significant amount of work throughout the summer to plan these events and prepare for the fall semester, and I am personally thankful to every faculty and staff member for their role in ensuring Brenau is ready.
