Dr. Grapenthin – Associate Professor of Psychology, and Child and Adolescent Concentration Leader. Dr. Grapenthin, licensed as both a Psychologist and School Psychologist, is also a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor. Her orientation integrates attachment theory and Jungian (archetype/expressive arts) and Adlerian approaches (social interest). She integrates her understanding of primary relationships, neuroscience, cultural and generational legacies into the understanding of clients. Her clinical focus is with neurodevelopmental disorders, Parenting Stress and Style, Trauma, Psychological Assessment, and Play, and Expressive Therapies. She is a certified Rehabilitative Facility Dog Handler and utilizes her facility dog, CURRIER in teaching and in her clinical practice. Additionally, she certified in EMDR and Theraplay (filial therapy). At the university, she serves as Director of the Norcross- BCCPS, teaches psychopathology, personality assessment, and advanced play therapy and supervises students in clinical internship and practicum courses.
