Jay Andrews

Jay Andrews is the chief executive overseeing Brenau University’s educational, non-commercial FM radio station 89.1 WBCX. Some of Jay’s tasks and responsibilities include integrating all ongoing radio station programming; creating broadcast day formatting 24/7; negotiating ongoing contracts with vendors including National Public Radio, the British Broadcasting Corporation, American Public Media; and following and implementing Federal Communications Commission standard broadcast regulations, as well as Georgia Association of Broadcasters policies. He also enjoys working with students, community volunteers and all departments to deliver programs, interviews and on-air news about Brenau.

Outside of the classroom, Jay can be found tinkering with his classic car collection, walking Xena the wonder dog, and creating voice over pieces for radio and TV stations around the world from his studio. Jay earned his bachelor’s in Communications from Brenau and met his wife Gigi while studying at the university. One of his favorite things to do at Brenau is announcing graduate names during commencement ceremonies each spring and winter. Brenau’s Communication Department is home to a lot of great success stories both on-air and behind the scenes. Welcome all incoming Brenau students!
