Brenau students, faculty and staff gathered in Pearce Auditorium on Thursday, Aug. 21, to celebrate the new academic year, and welcome new students.
Assistant Vice President of the Undergraduate School and The Women’s College Didi Cassell was the featured speaker.
First-year students signed the honor code, then participated in the First Steps tradition. The new student is given a daisy, which symbolizes new beginnings, and walks down the path on front campus while faculty, staff and returning students cheer them on.
Brenau welcomed its largest first-year class ever this year, with 345 new students enrolled as of Aug. 25.
