Brenau University’s Admissions Office hosted its 51st Winter Weekend on Feb. 6-7.

The event brings prospective students to Brenau’s historic Gainesville Campus and provides them the opportunity to spend a night on campus, interact with current students, and meet faculty and staff.

“Winter Weekend is an event geared towards applicants and admitted students,” Rhett Sapough, executive director of admissions, said. “It is an opportunity for them to visit the campus, learn more about the ways to be involved in the community, and about the academic programs. They get to experience the Brenau community as a whole.”

This year, prospective students attended Brenau’s annual talent show and a dance party on Friday. On Saturday, they participated in academic showcases, met professors and got a closer look at Brenau’s academic departments and opportunities. Later, they cheered on the Golden Tiger basketball team at a home game.

“During Winter Weekend, the Brenau community comes together with the shared goal of helping prospective students experience the campus to the highest degree,” Sapough said. “Brenau’s Got Talent is a chance for them to see how talented and accomplished our current students are. At the dance party, they get to interact with each other. This year, we also included an athletic event in the schedule. We try to give prospective students the chance to experience what is happening within the community. Instead of just visiting campus, they get to fully experience a day in the life of a Brenau student.”

The next admissions event is Brenau Bound on March 28, an event exclusively for admitted students; they can register here.
