Brenau’s traditional Winter Weekend on Feb. 16-17 welcomed more than 120 prospective students and their parents.

Winter Weekend, marking its 49th year on the historic campus, is one of Brenau’s largest recruitment events. During the weekend, prospective students experience college life as a Golden Tiger by attending campus events and spending the night in a residence hall or sorority house.

The weekend kicked off with an opening reception hosted by the Office of the President. Afterward, students were treated to Brenau’s Got Talent, an opportunity for current undergraduate students to showcase their talents before an audience of prospective and current students, staff, family, and friends, with cash prizes presented to the winners. This year’s winners included Blu Abduallah in third place, Anna Beringer in second, and the K-Pop club, Klovers, winning first place and a prize of $500. After the show, a dance party in Hopkins Dining Hall finished day one.

Day two allowed prospective students to learn more about Greek Life from each of Brenau’s sororities. Afterward, they participated in academic showcases across campus, learning about their intended fields of study and getting to know current Brenau students and faculty. Parents also had opportunities to learn more about financial aid and scholarships, residential life and a Q&A with the Admissions Office.
