Associate of Arts (A.A.) Degree in Liberal Studies (2-year)

The A.A. degree in liberal studies consists of liberal education requirements and elective/concentration courses. The elective/concentration courses should be chosen from courses that will be applied toward the student’s future bachelor’s degree major or from an academic field that interests the student. Students may not transfer into the A.A. program with more than 45 semester hours of credit.

Students must

  • Earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0
  • Satisfy a 16-hour residency requirement with Brenau. Experiential, challenge and CLEP credit do not count toward the residency requirement.
  • Successfully complete coursework outlined on the program plan while accumulating a minimum of 61 hours of academic credit. Students may have more than 61 hours at
    the point of graduation based on placement and transfer hours.
