Sophomore Madison Kitson represented the Golden Tiger track and field team at the 2026 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships held at Karl Straus Track last Wednesday and Thursday.

In her second national championship appearance, Kitson competed in three events- long jump, triple jump and the 200 meters- and showcased her talents on the national stage.

Kitson placed in the top-20 in two events to solidify her place among the nation’s best. In the long jump, Kitson finished 13th overall with a mark of 5.64 meters. In the triple jump, she also performed well by jumping 11.19 meters to earn 17th place. The San Antonio, TX. native also placed 32nd in the 200 meters with a time of 25.33.

In total, Kitson wrapped up a stellar sophomore campaign highlighted by being named as the 2026 Most Outstanding Athlete at the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor Track and Field Championships and the 2026 AAC Outdoor Track and Field Most Valuable Player.

Our Golden Tiger of the Week is Morela Boyd🐯

Morela finished her Golden Tiger Career with an 82-82-80, leading her team to a top 17 finish at the AAC Conference Championship. This was Brenau Golf’s best team finish at the Conference Championships since 2021.

Emma received 2026 AAC Newcomer of the Year recognition in her inaugural season as a Golden Tiger by leading the AAC in triples (7), and was second in runs scored (49).

One of our Golden Tigers of the Week is Madison Kitson🐯

Madison was named Most Valuable Player at the 2026 Appalachian Athletic Conference (AAC) championships this past weekend.

Madison continued to shine in her sophomore campaign by earning second place in both the 200 meters (25.53) and the triple jump (11.46m) after winning the long jump and 400 meters on Friday. She also added another win in the 4x400 relay, joining Kyla Laurent, Ja’Leyah Wongus, and Kamryn Chambliss to hold off Columbia (S.C.) College’s relay team by .01 seconds to take the title.
