Vice President of Information Technology and CIO


Chip Andrews has been vice president of information technology and chief information officer at Brenau University since 2012. He arrived in 2005 as the university’s chief IT officer. His primary role is managing the budget, operations and staff of Brenau’s information technology department. Over the last decade, he oversaw Brenau’s transition to more streamlined technology services, including the university’s migration from Blackboard LMS to Canvas LMS, which brought improved analytics, mobile support, integrated audio and video and superior hosting to Brenau’s classrooms and offices. Specializing in Microsoft SQL server security, he founded the cybersecurity firm Special Ops Security and long-running website before arriving at Brenau. He holds a bachelor’s degree in applied computer science from Southern Polytechnic State University and a master’s degree in applied computer science from Columbus State University.
