Troy Heidesch

Troy Heidesch, DNP, FNP-C, RN

Dr. Troy Heidesch is an associate professor and the Director of Nursing in the Mary Inez Grindle School of Nursing at Brenau University. He served as the Richards Endowed Graduate Chair for the Mary Inez-Grindle School of Nursing from 2014-2021 and has been serving as the Director of the School of Nursing since 2020. He serves on a number of university-level committees. On a national level, Dr. Heidesch is a member of the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) which represents over 90% of nursing programs with nurse practitioner programs. For NONPF, he serves as the Chair of the Finance, Capital Development, and Marketing Committee (2019-present) and was a member of the Telehealth Committee from 2021-2023 where he was a content expert on policy and application of telehealth practice and education. Dr. Heidesch was chosen in 2018 to be a fellow of the AACN Wharton Business School Executive Leadership Program and is a CCNE accreditation site visitor. Dr. Heidesch has spoken at several national and international conferences on nurse entrepreneurism, budget strategy, telehealth, and advanced practice. He has written a chapter on telehealth and artificial intelligence for advanced practices nurse education for Springer Publishing. Dr. Heidesch received his DNP from the Medical College of Georgia in 2009, his BSN and MSN from Brenau university, and his Associate Degree in Nursing from the University of South Dakota. He has been a certified family nurse practitioner since 2000; working in family practice and emergency departments.
