March is Women’s History Month, and since its establishment in 1878, Brenau has been a place where all students can reach their full potential and flourish personally and professionally.
I was pleased that Brenau’s dedication to excellence was recognized nationally recently when the university was ranked No. 21 on Newsweek’s inaugural list of America’s Best Colleges for Women. We are also the second-highest among the 42 public and private Georgia institutions on the list.
It also shows that our legacy of quality extends across our entire institution, which has been coeducational for more than 50 years. We believe that preserving the distinct strengths of our heritage within the context of a thriving, coeducational university is a vital investment in our future. This ensures that every student–undergraduate and graduate–has the opportunity to be a participant in the university’s mission.
The signature event for Women’s History Month at Brenau is the Women’s Leadership Colloquium on Friday, March 20, and we are pleased to welcome best-selling author and alumna Ronda Rich as the Alumni Association Endowed Speaker. The event also features four workshops led by women who are accomplished in their fields.
This event always features lively conversation about the unique potential and challenges of women’s leadership. I look forward to the event every year, and I encourage all members of the Brenau community to attend and participate in this important dialogue.
