Dr. Glenn Eernisse spent his early years growing up in Wisconsin, Florida, and South Carolina, but has called Georgia home for most of his life. Music has been a large part of his life as long as he can remember, so it seemed a natural progression to pursue that interest in college and beyond. Dr. Eernisse earned undergraduate music degrees from Anderson University and Berry College, before obtaining his master’s and doctoral degrees from Southern Seminary. He has served as Minister of Music for several churches and taught music classes at Brewton-Parker College and the University of West Georgia. Even when not in the classroom, he enjoys writing, arranging, and performing music.

At Brenau, Dr. Eernisse teaches several classes in the area of music theory and music education. He enjoys the small class size and family atmosphere that are a part of the Brenau tradition, and is grateful to be included in the faculty of an institution that adds so much to the fabric of life in the Gainesville area while helping to prepare students for their future. In his free time, he enjoys reading, traveling, scuba diving, and spending time with his wife.
