Brenau University’s residential students returned to the historic Gainesville campus this August ahead of the 2023 fall semester. The first day of classes is Monday, Aug. 21, though some degree programs have different start dates.

First-year students, including members of the class of 2027, moved into their residence halls on Aug. 16. Student leaders moved in the weekend before, and returning students will unpack their bags this weekend.

Starting Aug. 21, new and returning students can take part in Welcome Week, which will kick off the fall semester. Welcome Week features a variety of other activities designed to energize students as they start the new semester. Some activities include photo opportunities, a Greek block party and the recently revitalized Roll Call tradition.

On Thursday, Aug. 24, all students, faculty and staff will gather for the fall formal convocation at 12:45 p.m. in Pearce Auditorium, and new students will participate in the First Steps tradition after convocation ends. At the end of the week, a new student lounge will open in Owens Student Center.
