The Office of Alumni Engagement will host several alumni events throughout the fall semester, including a presidential meet and greet, a virtual wine tasting, hockey game, and sign ups for two international trips.
In October, the Alumni Engagement will support the Presidential Event in Augusta, Georgia, at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the Augusta Marriott Convention Center. This event offers an opportunity for alumni in the Augusta area to meet President David Barnett, Ph.D., and meet up with other local alumni. This event is free to attend but registration is required. On Saturday, Oct. 25, Alumni Engagement will host an Occupational Therapy alumni reception in Helen, Georgia, following the Georgia Occupational Therapy Association Conference. The OT alumni event is from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Bigg Daddy’s Restaurant and Tavern. Register here for the OT alumni event.
Two wine-tasting events are planned for November and December. On Friday, Nov. 7, alumni can join in a virtual wine tasting that includes six mini bottles of selected wines delivered with an expert-led webinar. Tickets are $55. Advance registration is required for the virtual wine tasting. In December, an in-person wine tasting and holiday party will take place at Chateau Elan in Braselton, Georgia. The holiday party takes place at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. Tickets are $50 per person, and must be purchased in advance.
In January, Brenau Alumni will cheer on the Athens Rock Lobsters hockey team in a home game against the Columbus River Dragons. The game starts at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 11, at Akins Ford Arena in Athens, Georgia. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased here.
For alumni who like to travel internationally, two Alumni Travel trips are planned for next year. Alumni Travel trips are open to all alumni, faculty and staff, as well their family and friends.
Tickets are still available for the French Riviera tour May 21-29, and a $150 discount is available for those who register before Nov. 22. This trip includes a scenic train ride through Monte Carlo, a perfume-making workshop in Nice, and a wine-tasting in Cannes. Learn more and reserve your spot on the French Riviera trip here.
