Workshop Description

Among many other things that the brain is involved in, the processing of emotions stands out as significant. When the Limbic system detects threats, it triggers an emotional response which then propels behaviors that may or may not be appropriate. When there is a dysfunction to the frontal lobe, there is display of irritability and aggression. This workshop focuses on the neurobiology of violence, particularly in regards to understanding criminal behavior with an introduction of the START NOW treatment program with incarcerated individuals.
