Apply for Financial Aid

General Information

Brenau University offers financial aid in the form of Federal Grants and Direct Loans, as well as State Grants and Scholarships for undergraduate students. Graduate Students are able to receive Federal Loans. Any student who wishes to apply for federal aid and state aid should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at Keep in mind new students must also complete all Brenau University admissions requirements and be fully accepted for admission before financial aid can be processed. A student who is allowed conditional enrollment is not eligible for financial aid for that term.

Applications for financial aid are generally processed on a rolling basis beginning in early spring. However, completing the FAFSA by April 1st so you can meet our May 1st priority deadline will help to maximize your financial aid package. Please keep in mind that many financial aid programs are limited by budgetary constraints or by legislative processes. The financial aid deadline for each semester is one month prior to the beginning date of that semester. If your admissions and/or financial aid files are not complete by the semester deadline, it will be your responsibility to make payment under any one of the payment options outlined in the Brenau University Catalog. Please contact the Accounting Office to discuss payment arrangements. Students who make payments may be reimbursed after financial aid is awarded. For more information about billing and payment plans please contact the Accounting Office at 770-534-6150.
