Apply for Financial Aid

General Information

Brenau University offers financial aid in the form of Federal Grants and Direct Loans, as well as State Grants and Scholarships for undergraduate students.

Graduate Students are able to receive Federal Loans.

Any student who would like to apply for federal and state aid should complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at https://studentaid.gov.

Brenau University has a rolling admissions policy – there are no annual deadlines or specific priority dates. We recommended that Financial Aid requests should be submitted 2 months prior to your anticipated start date. Visit our Financial Aid pages for more information about how to get started.

New FAFSA forms are available on Oct. 1 of each calendar year for the academic year that begins the following August. For example: beginning Oct. 1, 2022, the 2023-24 FAFSA is available to file.

Keep in mind new students must also complete all Brenau University admissions requirements and be fully accepted for admission before financial aid can be processed.

A student who is allowed conditional enrollment is not eligible for financial aid for that term.

It’s easy to get the financial aid process started

1.  Apply for admission to the university (Contact the Admissions Office for details). You must be fully accepted for admission before financial aid can be awarded.

2. Complete the 2021-2022 FAFSA if you will be enrolling this Spring or Summer. Complete the 2022-2023 FAFSA for the upcoming Fall semester going forward. Brenau University’s school code is 001556 and you can complete the FAFSA application online at https://studentaid.gov.

3. If an undergraduate student does not want to complete the FAFSA, they may still apply for state grants and scholarships by completing the Georgia Tuition Equalization Grant/ Hope Application online at www.gafutures.org.
