Benefits of Living on Campus During Pandemic

As you navigate the college search process during COVID-19, here are some points to consider when making the decision to live on campus:

  • Build your community and create lifelong friendships while embracing Brenau’s Culture of Prevention.Peer support is essential to college success. Living on campus, you will be able to study with friends and classmates which makes learning easier and more enjoyable.
    • You can stay connected with student organizations and faculty/staff who are still operating behind the scenes.
  • Access Brenau’s strong internet connection for study and coursework.
    • Many negative aspects of living at home and completing courses online during this time stem from issues such as internet connectivity problems, negative home environments, and difficulty finding an adequate or quiet place to do coursework or study.
  • Concerned about your health and/or safety? 
    • Our onsite, full-time health services team is here to assist you.
    • Brenau’s cleaning/disinfecting protocols include: faculty/staff will wipe frequently touched surfaces (keyboards, technology etc.) following each class and after all students leave the classroom; each evening Aramark/housekeeping will clean classrooms and high traffic areas including all surfaces; if there is a COVID positive case, there will be a deep cleaning per CDC guidelines in that area.     • Brenau’s historic Gainesville campus is located in the heart of the Northeast Georgia Health System with clinics and quick care centers within walking distance.
    • Brenau’s Security office is 24/7 and available by phone if you need assistance.
  • Develop independence and safely spread your wings.
    • One of the perks of leaving home or where you’re used to living to attend college and live on campus is the actual experience of doing so. Brenau is equipped with the resources to make the transition to living on campus as seamless as possible. From laundry rooms to computer rooms, these resources exist to help students adjust to their new environment.
    • The dining hall is open, with safe distancing measures in place, to provide three meals a day throughout the week and brunch and dinner on weekends.
  • Ways to connect students before arrival:
    • Follow the Admissions’ social media accounts. Many of our incoming students are already interacting with Brenau Admissions’ content. Additionally, our Admissions Counselors have social media profiles so you can connect with your counselor to assist as you transition into student life.
