

Dr. Kelley Brock-Simmons has served her entire career in education. From classroom teacher of both general education and special education, as well as school administrator to education business consultant, she is well positioned to lead the students and faculty of the College of Education as Dean.
Dr. KBS, as she is known, received her Ph.D. in Special Education from American University in Washington, DC. Additionally, she earned her Masters Degree in Special Education from American University and her undergraduate work was completed in Elementary Education, from Texas A&M.
Her contributions to education and the support of all teachers are reflected in her appointment to the inaugural Teacher Leadership Development Institute sponsored by the Professional Standards Commission, an inaugural appointment to Brenau’s Faculty Leadership Team and is currently the President of Brenau’s chapter of Pi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest honor society.
Dr. KBS has benefitted education worldwide. She has traveled to Qatar, Jordan, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Cairo, Ecuador and other nations and assisted in the reform of educational systems. She has also worked for several state Department of Education offices and evaluated charter schools where she served as the expert on teacher quality and special education. She has presented several talks around the globe on data driven instruction, systems organizations, and preparing for accreditation visits.
Her research interests include Teachers and their hidden bias towards children living in poverty, academic advising in an online environment, and Doctoral candidates’ perception of quality online dissertation support. She joins Brenau’s list of esteemed educators with her 2020 win of The Vulcan Award, Brenau University’s Distinguished Teaching/Leadership Award
