Events, concert scheduled for Alumni Reunion Weekend

Registration is now open for Alumni Reunion Weekend on April 3-5 at Brenau University. 

The annual weekend-long reunion is open to all alumni, whether you attended The Women’s College, the Academy, or any of the University programs, undergraduate or graduate.

“We are thrilled to offer a few new events alongside annual favorites, like the champagne brunch and awards dinner,” Alumni Director Emily Reid said. “We can’t wait to see all of our wonderful alumni back on campus, at the Boot Barn Hall, and at our education programs throughout the weekend.”

Ivester Endowed Lecture Speaker Erik Qualman, April 3, 6-8 p.m.
  • Ivester Endowed Lectureship with Erik Qualman – 6 p.m. Thursday, April 3, in Hosch Theatre at the John S. Burd Center for the Performing Arts. This event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. More information about Qualman and registration can be found here.
  • Closing reception of the Alumni Artist Juried Exhibition – 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, in Sellars Gallery on the historic Gainesville campus
  • The Innovation, Inquiry and Creativity Symposium – 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, at the Downtown Campus. The keynote address will be given by Assistant Vice President and Dean of The Women’s College Debra Dobkins.
  • 50th cluster reunion, 24K Club and Golden Roses lunch with President David L. Barnett – noon Friday, April 4, in the Burd Center. The graduates of 1974, 1975 and 1976 and current members of the 24K Club and the Golden Roses Club are invited to lunch and celebration. Enjoy catching up with friends and reminiscing about your time at Brenau. A special ceremony will be held to recognize members of the 50th-reunion class.
  • Boot Barn Hall concert on the Gainesville Square, featuring R&B, Inc. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music starts at 6 p.m. This is a ticketed event, but a portion of the proceeds go to student scholarships. Get tickets here.
  • Ernest Ledford Grindle Athletics Department celebrates their newest Hall of Fame inductees at a ceremony and dinner at 6:30 p.m. Friday, April 4, at the Downtown Center. Registration closes March 28.
  • Champagne brunch begins at 10 a.m., Saturday, April 5, with class photos during that time. 
  • The Department of Physical Therapy will offer continuing education unit courses from noon-3 p.m. Saturday at the Downtown Center, followed by a 10-year reception at 3:30 p.m. in Thomas Atrium at the Downtown Center. Brenau will commemorate the past 10 years of the physical therapy program with a special awards reception dedicated to PT alums and supporters.
  • May Court presentation at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 5, on the front lawn.
  • Sorority open houses begin at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
  • The Alumni Awards ceremony, reunion and pining will wrap up the weekend at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Brenau Downtown Center. Open to everyone, this event celebrates the classes that end in a 0 and 5. Each reunion class member will receive their pin during a special ceremony. Enjoy music, dinner and drinks while you catch up with friends. We also will celebrate our annual alumni award winners.

Alumni who register before March 28 are guaranteed a swag bag with Brenau goodies. Alums and friends of Brenau can also order a branded RTIC tumbler using the registration form. As always, the $5 sorority open house fee goes directly toward your sorority.
