More than 100 students, alumni, their families and friends celebrated Brenau University Homecoming Weekend Sept. 28-29.

Events included campus tours, a cocktail reception and the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony. Nancy Rogers Reynolds, a 1970 graduate of Brenau Academy and 1973 graduate of the Women’s College, was named Academy Alumna of the Year. Jeff Seiple, Brenau class of 1990, received the Community Service Award, and Dr. India Rose, Women’s College class of 2006, received the Professional Achievement Award. Dr. Jennifer Allison, three-time graduate of Brenau, received the Service to Brenau Award, and Marjorie Uys Edenfield, class of 2012, received the Young Alumna Award.

Kathy Amos, two-time graduate of Brenau and executive director of Brenau’s Center for Lifetime Study, John Rudio, 1998 graduate, and Frances “Shay” English Stafford, 1969 graduate, were inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame.

The Homecoming Weekend events also included a mini-softball tournament at Ernest Ledford Grindle Athletics Park on Friday, Sept. 28, where a student team, a faculty-staff team and an alumni team competed for bragging rights, as well as various sport-specific alumni games throughout the weekend.

“We had a fabulous Homecoming Weekend,” said Ashley Carter, director of alumni and constituent engagement. “It is always great to see alumni come back to campus and visit with former classmates and current faculty and staff. Our first annual Softball Tournament was a huge hit, and I am looking forward to continuing this as a new Brenau tradition. It is always great to have an event where staff, alumni and students can interact, share experiences and get to know each other. If you missed out this year I hope you will join us next year — it is sure to be another great weekend.”
