Lucky ticket holders will rediscover the real story of Oz in this fantastic musical treat, featuring Brenau University students in the Gainesville Theatre Alliance.

Based on the beloved 1939 film that has been entertaining families for generations, Frank Baum’s Wizard of Oz is now reimagined for the stage. It is full of the familiar songs from the Oscar-winning movie score and special effects that take you on an unforgettable adventure.

All 13 performances sold out a week before the Nov. 6 opening at Brenau University’s Hosch Theatre, and the final viewing will be at 2:30 p.m. Nov. 17. The production aims to create a new spin on the original production —Toto, lions, tigers and bears, oh my! Although the script and music will closely resemble the film, audiences shouldn’t expect a carbon copy.

The Gainesville Theatre Alliance is a nationally acclaimed collaboration between Brenau, the University of North Georgia, theater professionals and the Northeast Georgia community.
