Dear faculty and staff of Sweet Briar,
On behalf of the entire Brenau University community, I salute you and all members of the Sweet Briar family as you transition to this new phase of your careers and lives after your diligent work on behalf of an institution that has so well served higher education in this country. Please know that we have been your partners in the fine work of preserving the traditions and values of single-gender education and we will support you to the extent possible as you move forward.
To that end, we have created this Web page to make it easier for you to apply for any position available at Brenau through all of its operations in Georgia and North Florida today and in the future. I assure you that we will give strong consideration to applications from any members of the Sweet Briar faculty and staff who wish to apply for openings at Brenau.
Also, in my capacity as chair of the Georgia Independent College Association, I would be happy to facilitate your application or interest in any of the more than 28 private institutions in Georgia, including three additional Women’s Colleges.
The Women’s College at Brenau University has been in continuous operation since 1878. Although the enrollment ceiling for that part of the institution has been set at about 900 to 1,000 students on our historic main campus in Gainesville, we have opportunities for co-educational graduate and undergraduate programs, including three doctoral degrees in health and rehabilitative science in Gainesville; four other locations in Georgia – North Atlanta/Norcross, South Atlanta/Fairburn, Augusta, on the U.S. Navy Submarine Base at Kings Bay, and soon, as I inferred earlier, at yet another location.
I wish you the best as you move forward and stand ready to assist you if am able to do so.
Ed L. Schrader, Ph.D.
PS – I also communicated to your president that Brenau has put forth some initiatives that might benefit your students if you wish to pass them along.
First, the university is prepared to match scholarship and discount offers to any qualified Sweet Briar student up to our capacity commensurate with our tuition, room and board, and fee structure. This offer applies to any Sweet Briar student that might wish to continue their education at Brenau. As part of that offer, we will also facilitate transfers to Brenau for qualified international students.
Second, we will offer tryouts for scholarships to soccer, tennis or volleyball players or swimmers who would be interested in participating on Brenau Golden Tigers NAIA championship-class intercollegiate athletics teams.
