Bachelor of Arts in Music Education

Elevate your passion and talent for music and prepare yourself to train the next generation of musicians and music enthusiasts. With the Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, you’ll learn the skills you need to teach music at the elementary, middle or high school level. You’ll study music theory, conducting, aural skills, music history, instrumental methods and receive individualized attention from Brenau’s music faculty. You’ll also take a teacher education sequence of courses from the College of Education, and student teach for a semester. All of these skills and experiences will ensure that you graduate from Brenau as an educator ready to inspire and challenge your students through music and spread your love of music to those around you.

Student opportunities 

  • Perform in, or even conduct, Brenau’s musical ensembles, including the Vocal Chamber Ensemble, Spectrum Singers, Gospel Choir or Opera Workshop
  • Study one-on-one with faculty members to enhance your skills as an educator and a musician 
  • Perform for members of the community in Brenau’s three large concert halls 
  • Develop critical connections with professors, who will help you become an effective educator 
  • Perform solos and complete a senior recital 
  • Attend recitals and concerts from other university ensembles
