Brenau University Presents Summer Speaker Series at Jacksonville Campus
JACKSONVILLE, Florida, June 10, 2016 – Brenau University hosts a special four-month speaker series this summer, featuring some of Jacksonville’s most noteworthy civic, political and business leaders discussing the local community’s most significant issues.
“We were looking for opportunities to invite companies, individuals and students to the location to get a feel of Brenau’s environment,” said Brenau Adult and Graduate Studies Executive Director of Enrollment Christina White. “We looked at key individuals in the community, who are influential and create a buzz of individuals around them.”
Retired United States Navy Program Analyst for Strategic Systems Programs Don Cross begins the series June 15 with a presentation titled An Introduction to Project Management. Downtown Vision, Inc. CEO Jacob A. Gordon leads a talk titled The Unlimited Potential of Downtown Jacksonville July 13. Director of Community Affairs for the City of Jacksonville Charles Moreland is the guest speaker for Leadership in Today’s Market Aug. 17. The series wraps up Sept. 21 with a panel discussion led by George Mann of State Farm titled Insurance Fraud – Threat or Opportunity?
The speaker series was developed by Brenau AGS Senior Enrollment Manager Sara Lipira and Senior Corporate Education Liaison Stephen Mann. “The series is diverse in topic to appeal to a broad range of business and community interests, from the thriving military community to business potential of downtown Jacksonville,” Lipira said. “Brenau is a business powerhouse in Georgia, and we look forward to establishing a strong foundation in Florida, too.”
