Softball Team Ranked Third in Latest NAIA Poll

The Brenau University Golden Tigers softball team is ranked No. 3 in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics poll released Friday, April 7.

The Golden Tigers jumped from No. 8 in the last NAIA poll after a stunning sweep of William Carey (Mississippi) University on Saturday, April 1, to take first place in the Southern States Athletic Conference.

The win gave the Golden Tigers a conference record of 16-0 and a three-game lead atop the SSAC.

The top five in the latest NAIA rankings are, in order: Oklahoma City University, Columbia (Missouri) College, Brenau University, Marian (Indiana) University and Georgia Gwinnett College.

Brenau (37-5, 16-0 SSAC) next faces Martin Methodist (Tennessee) University on Friday, April 7, in Pulaski, Tennessee, for a 5 p.m. doubleheader.
