Brenau Student Art Exhibit at High Museum Extended Through Weekend
The High Museum of Art extended the special exhibition of about 85 works from Brenau University students through Sunday, Feb. 16.
The closing reception for the exhibition, postponed twice by hazardous winter weather conditions, has also been rescheduled to Sunday, Feb. 16, from 2 to 4 p.m. in the education center, located on the lower level of the Stent Family Wing at the museum.
Both the reception and the exhibition, open during normal operating hours of the High, are open to the public.
The exhibition includes digital prints, ceramics, oil and acrylic paintings, stoneware and mixed media. It is part of the unique academic partnership between Brenau and the internationally renowned art museum.
Brenau faculty selected student work from the fall juried design exhibition, from past student art collaborative exhibitions and from portfolio shows of works by graduate interior design students. As a result, the High “interdisciplinary exhibition” includes works for Brenau students studying art and design, interior design, mass communication, theater and liberal arts, but students studying other majors have works in the exhibit as well.
Faculty, staff and students who would like transportation to the museum from the Gainesville campus or more information should contact Sall Conn at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 770-534-6240.
