‘The Ugly Duckling’ brings laughter to Pearce Auditorium

Thespians in the Gainesville Theatre Alliance perform "The Ugly Duckling

Children and adults learned about finding their inner selves during The Ugly Duckling, presented by WonderQuest and held at Brenau University’s Pearce Auditorium.

The Ugly Duckling, held from Sept. 27 to Oct. 5, was written by Hans Christian Andersen and adapted for the stage by Gay Hammond, Brenau’s associate professor of theatre.

The story follows Duckling-Dear as he searches for a home after being teased for looking a little different. He meets new friends on his journey and discovers that it takes all kinds to make the world work and that true worth is more than skin deep.

A free meet-the-actors reception and ice cream social with the cast followed different performances. Visitors were also able to see a free stage tour before the performance.
