This year the Miss Brenau scholarship competition turned 75-years-old and to celebrate the grande finale of the competition was held to a packed house in Peace Auditorium.
Misress of Ceremonies and Brenau alumna, Tracy Vaden Moore, led the enthusiastic crowd throughout the evening’s entertainment which included a slideshow, a video of thoughts from Judy Huston Rogers on what it was like to be Miss Brenau in 1964, talents and the crowing of this years Miss Brenau.
After an evening full of laughter and cheers Dayle Lane had her jaw dropped as she was named Miss Brenau 2013.”It’s a great honor to be named Miss Brenau,” Lane said.
Eight first-year students are selected to compete in the competition and are judged on an essay, talent, personal interview with judges and onstage presentation. The range of talents demonstrated in the show included musical performances, dancing and baton twirling as well as a couple of monologues.
